Labour Leader of Scarborough Council, Cllr. Steve Siddons, argues in today’s full Council Meeting that the borough’s residents should not be hit with higher local taxes after suffering from Covid lockdown.
“Our spending plans for the coming financial year need to acknowledge that many of our residents are facing difficulties”, states Cllr Siddons. “Their own budgets are under strain”.
“Thanks to the careful stewardship of our resources, we are in a position where we can afford not to raise our element of the council tax in 2021/22. I believe this sends a positive message to residents that their local Labour led council is on their side.”
