Labour Cllrs Tony Randerson, Theresa Norton and Joanne Maw are urging residents to join them in the Big Clean Up of Eastfield on Friday 24th September. Everyone is invited to the newly refurbished Eastfield Community Centre between 9:00 and 1:00pm.
Councillor Tony Randerson says that this is “an opportunity for the community to come together to tackle the fly tipping and rubbish that spoils the area for people who live here.” Working with the Eastfield Partners such as Beyond Housing, Eastfield Town Council, Scarborough Borough Council, McCains, and the Keep Scarborough Tidy Group who have all pledged their support, Tony is hoping for even further pledges to come in. Around 10 skips will be provided by Beyond Housing and suitably placed around the Eastfield Estate.
“This is a community driven event”, says Cllr Theresa Norton. “I have always believed that Eastfield people know what is best for Eastfield. We are hoping that lots of residents and children will come out on the day to help out.”
The Big Clean Up of Eastfield will be part of the Big Green Week. All the relevant safety procedures will be adhered to and the plan is to provide food and drinks for those participating.
