a hard-working councillor very active in the local community Liz Colling
Liz was born and bred in Scarborough, and after a career in pharmacy and business she moved back to the area in 2010 to enjoy her semi-retirement and be closer to family. She’s now a hard-working councillor and county councillor, with a high local profile, and very accessible to residents.
Liz was elected to represent Falsgrave Park Ward in the 2015 Borough elections, and Falsgrave and Stepney Divison for North Yorkshire County Council in 2017.
She is currently Chair of the Overview and Scrutiny committee at Scarborough Borough Council, and Vice Chair of Scrutiny of Health at North Yorkshire County Council.
Liz lives in the Falsgrave area and is very active in the local community. She’s a governor at Childhaven Community Nursery, a trustee of Scarborough and District Citizens’ Advice, and engaged in the Edgehill Community Association.
Given her career choice, Liz has a special interest in health, especially the public health agenda. She also has a particular focus on regenerating the borough’s economy.
When not engaged in council duties, Liz enjoys growing her own vegetables, keeping generally active and busy, as well as travel, especially visiting her son who lives abroad .
